Activities Manager - FT (Day) - North Mankato, MN

Position details: Full-time day schedule.

You’ll plan and develop activities and social programs designed to aid residents in using their personal physical and mental potential. Key Accountabilities

  • Appropriately communicates with resident and/or resident families.
  • Develop and maintain activities and social programming that is reflective of the residents’ needs and interests.
  • Lead activity groups, including exercise classes.
  • Must be compassionate and work with tact and ethical awareness.
  • Report any resident changes to the Nursing staff.
  • Responsible to meet requirements of state, federal, and other regulatory entities as they relate to activities.
  • Supervise the activities programming provided by all personnel.
  • Assist residents with developing interpersonal relationships, socializing effectively, and developing the confidence needed to participate in group activities.
  • Assists other departments with special events and family functions.
  • Promote independence with residents by offering choices and fostering self-help skills.
  • Maintain and report proper documentation of efforts as requested.
  • May be asked to create budgetary standards for all activities within the community.
  • Monitor and adhere to budgets as established by the Executive Director.
  • Order and maintain supplies needed for activities.

Education and Experience

  • High School education or GED.
  • Must have at least 2 years of experience working with seniors.
  • Training or education in Therapeutic Recreation or Certified Activities designation preferred.


  • Follows all policies and procedures
  • Must be a minimum of eighteen (18) years of age.
  • Must be able to relate information concerning residents’ condition.
  • Must have a valid non-restricted driver’s license and be able to operate a motor vehicle.
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant action.
  • Must receive a "not disqualified" criminal background result and may not be on the OIG exclusions list.
  • Stays up to date on all required training.
  • Understands and adheres to the Vulnerable Adult and Abuse Policy. Is familiar with the Resident’s Bill of Rights and adheres to it.
