Jessie Warburton, Executive Director of Keelson Harbour Senior Community in Spirit Lake, IA, is approaching a decade of service at Vista Prairie Communities. She’s been with Keelson Harbour since the very beginning, joining the team as a memory care resident assistant when the community opened its doors in 2007. A natural caregiver, Jessie was soon promoted to lead care manager and later to memory care coordinator.
In 2012, Jessie made a shift from caregiving to administration when she accepted the position of executive assistant. Three years later, in July of 2015, she moved into her current role as Executive Director.
Jessie’s passion has shone through her ten years of service at Vista Prairie. When asked what she loves about her job, her response made it clear why she’s been such an effective caregiver.
“I really enjoy being able to assist our residents and their families with their needs,” she said. “I love knowing at the end of the day that what I do has a positive impact in their lives.”
Jessie’s background as a caregiver began well before she walked through the door at Keelson Harbour. Before coming to Vista Prairie, she worked as a provider for Iowa Medicaid Enterprise, caring for a young child who suffered from seizures. She also spent time caring for physically and mentally disabled at adults during a tenure at Hope Haven.
Outside work, Jessie’s life revolves around her family. She enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and daughter, camping, gardening, and staging rodeos. You’ll also find her keeping her hands busy with scrapbooking, crafts, cooking, and shopping.
Thank you, Jessie, for your years of passion and service!
