We’ve assembled a team of remarkable professionals at our Vista Prairie Communities. With varied backgrounds and talents, our team has one common goal: to serve those who entrust us with their lives, health, and well-being. We transform lives by providing compassionate care and joy-filled environments in the communities we serve. We recently sat down with Rachael Evers, Executive Director of Vista Prairie at Monarch Meadows, and asked her a few questions.
Q. Tell us about your path leading to Monarch Meadows:
A. I graduated from MSU-Mankato with a bachelor’s degree in nursing and obtained my nursing home administrator license, worked for 10 years in long-term care for Volunteers of America, and was nurse faculty at Rasmussen College for nearly four years. I enrolled at Capella University in 2014 to obtain a master’s in nursing with a focus on leadership and administration.
Q. Why did you want to work with Vista Prairie Communities? What drove you to our mission?
A. My values and beliefs align with the mission of VPC. I’m a caregiver by background; it’s in my nature. I strive to provide meaning and purpose to all the lives we serve, as well as our employees. Seeing the joy brought to each resident through our community validates that this is a wonderful organization and I am meant to be here.
Q. What are some of your hobbies/interests?
A. I love being outdoors. Four-wheeling and camping is my family’s life during the summer months. I’m also an enthusiastic NFL fan, especially the Denver Broncos.
Q. Do you volunteer or serve on any boards or committees?
A. I serve on the Quality Assurance Committee for LeadingAge Minnesota [the largest association of organizations serving Minnesota seniors] and the education board at my church. I am an active member of my community, volunteer at my childrens’ school, church, and with the BackPack Program, where we help kids receive healthy meals.
Q. Would you like to add anything else?
A. Outside of work I love to spend time with my husband and my two boys, 6 and 9.
Welcome to the VPC family, Rachael! We’re so happy you’re here!
