Scott Hamman, Vista Prairie’s new Vice President of Human Resources, was looking for a mission-driven organization where he could utilize his extensive background in healthcare HR while having a larger impact on people’s lives.
“It’s clear through the mission, vision, and values, that there is a strong sense of dedication, caring, and service to others [at Vista Prairie Communities],” he said. “I keep coming back to words in the mission statement like ‘transforming lives’ and ‘joy-filled environments,’ and feel those are so important as we care for others, and their families.”
Scott is a graduate of Luther College, where he received his bachelor’s degree in Management, and St. Mary’s University, where he earned a Master’s in Management and Health and Human Services. Before coming to Vista Prairie, he spent over 10 years working for Allina Health, most recently serving as Talent Acquisition and Diversity Director.
Outside work, Scott enjoys spending time with his wife and eleven-year-old daughter. The family enjoys walks, bike rides, concerts, and spending as much time as possible at his wife’s family’s lake cottage in Wisconsin, where Scott may or may not be caught cheering on the Green Bay Packers…
Scott is an avid long-distance runner who has completed multiple marathons. He is also an accomplished musician who plays several instruments and has contributed his talent to church choirs, a contemporary worship band, and many weddings. Scott uses his musical background to volunteer at his daughter’s school, teaching the students about classical music.
Welcome to the family, Scott!
