Meet Natalie Seehausen: Regional Director for Vista Prairie Communities

If there’s anyone who knows the importance of family and friends, it’s regional director of Vista Prairie Communities, Natalie Seehausen. Born and raised on a farm in Redwood Falls, MN, Natalie still lives in the neighborhood to be close to both her family and her career.

As regional director, Natalie oversees six of Vista Prairie’s senior living communities in Southern Minnesota and Northern Iowa where she lends support and advice for staff and residents. Natalie understands that being close to friends and family can help you live a longer, happier life – especially as you age. Both her and her husband’s families reside in the Redwood Falls area making her just a short distance away from them and her residents. “We enjoy the fact that we have a loving extended family and are able to spend a lot of time with them,” she said.

Natalie’s background in human services lead her to the local hospital as volunteer programs coordinator where she focused on hospice. Her work at the hospital and with hospice landed her an executive director position with Vista Prairie at Garnette Gardens Senior Living Community. For five and a half years Natalie managed a successful health care team and built up Garnette Garden’s presence in the community by engaging and embracing residents and their families.

In October 2013, Natalie became regional director bringing her knowledge and experience in the senior care industry with her to become a valuable and reliable resource for the six communities, which is also her favorite part about her job. “I’m constantly learning new things about our residents and the industry and I love passing that knowledge to staff and also learning from them as well,” she said about her job. “I also enjoy getting out to the communities and seeing the impact we are having on the lives of others,” she continued, “whether that is through our staff or the residents.”

Natalie is a great leader who knows the value of being supportive and compassionate to everyone she works with and really strives to help them succeed in their roles.

She loves her job so much that her biggest challenge as regional director is balancing her passion for her work and seniors with her family life. One way she relaxes? “I love baking… for other people! I’ve been baking gourmet cupcakes for friends and family for years now and the best part is seeing the joy on their faces when they bite into one of my new creations,” she said with a smile.
