Meet the Team: Tami McWilliams, HR Business Partner, Vista Prairie Communities

Tami’s first contact with Vista Prairie Communities was in her time at Citizens Independent Bank, where she handled Vista Prairie’s accounts. Over the years, she watched Vista Prairie grow and came to love and feel inspired by our mission. In October of 2012, she acted on her instincts to make a career change and officially joined the the Vista Prairie family as Executive Assistant to the CFO/President.

After a year, Tami began assisting our Director of HR/Development, Lynn DeVore. This was Tami’s first introduction to HR work, and something she took an immediate liking to. She pursued her new passion for HR with training and education, eventually transitioning into a role as HR Business Partner.

Tami reports that every day in HR is a whirlwind of new challenges, and you have to come into work with an open mind, ready to face the day. Despite the busyness, her favorite part of her job is being a helpful resource for staff and residents.

“There is a great satisfaction in helping others solve problems or simply listening to them,” Tami says. She hopes to help Vista Prairie continue to grow as an organization, supporting the vision, mission, and values that Vista Prairie offers to all our communities.

In her free time, Tami enjoys spending time with friends and family. She loves hosting backyard BBQs for her extended family, going to drive-in movies when the weather is nice, and camping. She and her husband look for opportunities to travel together whenever they can.
