We’re dedicated to compassionate care in joy-filled environments – along with EXCELLENCE.
The care givers on the cover of this year’s report are standing in front of Vista Prairie at Monarch Meadows. They know about excellence, having expertly protected residents at our community in North Mankato, MN from COVID-19 in the final third of Fiscal Year 2020. During that same time, there were 594 infections in their two surrounding counties. Thanks to Monarch staff and to the dedicated staff in all eight of our communities in Minnesota, Iowa and Ohio for demonstrating excellence in service while protecting the elders who call a Vista Prairie Community home.
While pandemic response dominated March–June of our FY20, this report to the community looks at excellence during the entire year, in all three of our strategic priorities:
Exceptional Lifestyle: Each of our six Minnesota sites earned the LeadingAge Minnesota Performance Excellence Award of Merit in 2020. Read more on page 5.
Engaged Employees: In the face of the longest lasting public health crisis in our lifetime, our 2020 employee satisfaction was UP three percentage points from our 2019 survey.
Stewardship: LeadingAge’s Ziegler 2019 Survey ranks us as the nation’s 20th largest nonprofit, multi-site, assisted living provider. While we experienced financial challenges due to our COVID-19 response, we ended the year with a positive operating margin, well positioned for future growth. See the financials on page 6.
We also invite you to help support our mission of compassion and joy. In FY20 we provided about $3.7 million in reduced fees to qualifying residents in various public assistance programs. We need your help to continue to help them! Please click here to help our aging neighbors in need.
