A Message from our Board Chair & CEO
Welcome to our 2021 report to the community!

GROWTH
Our cover photo represents our newest community, Vista Prairie at Brentwood, which proudly participated in the Rice Lake, WI Aquafest Parade last June.
Brentwood's acquisition helped fulfill our core strategic priority of stewardship—to provide for future sustainability and growth, enable high quality services, and have a strong financial position to enhance our mission. We are pleased to report success with all three, despite another difficult pandemic year.
Future stability and growth – With Brentwood, we accomplished a key objective to grow our network of senior care communities. LeadingAge’s Ziegler 2020 Survey ranks us as the nation’s 22nd largest nonprofit, multi-site, assisted living provider.
High quality services – Each of our six Minnesota communities completed the required steps to be licensed assisted living facilities under the new law administered by the MN Department of Health. Far more than compliance, this is our calling.
Strong financial position – We surpassed our budgeted operating margin for the year, thanks to the availability of Federal assistance during COVID. See the details on page 6. This financial security enabled our communities to provide compassionate care in joy-filled environments.
We made significant progress in controlling COVID-19, as we report on page 4. Response to the pandemic remains our number one operational priority, with 1,340 vaccines administered to residents and staff throughout our locations during the fiscal year.
We thank our friends and associates for supporting our mission. See page 7 of the report or click the button below for a complete list of donors. In FY21 we provided about $3.7 million in reduced fees to qualifying residents in various public assistance programs. We need your help to continue that assistance. Please donate on-line, via www.vistaprairie.org/giving.
We will keep our promise to – “help you put a smile on your face.” Thank you for your support!
