The Vista Prairie Flex Team
The Vista Prairie Flex Team is a dedicated group of trained caregivers who provide staffing support across our communities to help ensure consistent, high-quality care for our residents. Flex Team members are cross-trained to work in multiple locations and can step in to fill staffing needs, support new community openings, and provide coverage during planned or unexpected absences. By providing a flexible and dependable workforce, the Flex Team helps support and maintain Vista Prairie’s dedication to delivering the highest possible quality of care while ensuring continuity for residents and support for community teams.
Traveling Nurse consultants
Our traveling nurse consultants provide expert clinical leadership and support across our communities, helping to ensure consistent, high-quality care and operational excellence. They serve as trusted resources for nursing teams and leaders, offering guidance on clinical practices, regulatory requirements, quality improvement initiatives, and resident-centered care. In addition to supporting day-to-day clinical operations, they play a key role in onboarding and mentoring new clinical leaders, helping them successfully transition into their roles.
Traveling nurse consultants also conduct comprehensive quality audits and assessments to identify opportunities for improvement, strengthen compliance with state and federal regulations, and promote best practices in clinical care. By partnering closely with community leadership teams, they help monitor outcomes and drive continuous quality improvement efforts. Their expertise and flexibility allow them to provide targeted support where it is needed most, ensuring our communities maintain high standards of care, resident safety, and regulatory readiness.
Global Partnership
Vista Prairie Communities has partnered with three other LeadingAge Minnesota member providers to establish Global Care Recruiters, an organization dedicated to expanding ethical international nurse recruitment and developing sustainable workforce solutions for the aging services sector.
A combination of factors, including a growing number of experienced professionals approaching retirement and the lasting impacts of workforce strain experienced during the pandemic, has contributed to a significant staffing shortage across the senior living industry. At the same time, demand for senior care services is expected to rise substantially, with all baby boomers reaching age 65 or older by 2030.
Through collaboration, innovation, and a shared commitment to delivering high-quality care, Global Care Recruiters aims to strengthen the long-term workforce pipeline and support providers in meeting the evolving needs of older adults.
The process of recruiting, training, and guiding international nurses through the immigration and licensure pathways typically spans 18 to 24 months. The first group of nurses is anticipated to arrive and begin working in the United States in late 2026 or early 2027.
This initiative represents an important investment in the future of senior care, helping ensure that providers can continue delivering exceptional care and services for years to come.
